Watercolor
Watercolor is a wonderful medium for ‘letting go’, creating intentional accidents and flowing color dynamics, especially with poured pigment and wet-on-wet techniques on different types of paper.
I studied at the Phoebe Flory Watercolor School in NH during three summers of 2 week intensive classes with others from around the country.
Years later I discovered Yupo paper, a synthetic, recyclable material originally created for industry. Artists discovered that it welcomes brilliant hues which can be lifted off with a wet brush or sponge, revealing the original white surface. It comes in opaque or translucent and is strong enough to be cut and folded as evidenced in my “Vibrations” series (which can be found on the Hand-Made Books page of the website).
